Prof. Paulo Ribeiro places 2nd at the Miami Abu Dhabi Pro Trial!

After 2 long days of competing Professor Paulo Ribeiro the head instructor of Gracie Barra Naples in florida placed 2nd! Professor Paulo says that he had left the competion mats 4 years ago to focus on his new family and business. After making the desicion to fight again his friends and family supported him 100%.  He says "Without the support from my students, friends and my family I would not be here, I owe everything I have to them and to God."  The 3rd degree black belt even moved from Masters to Adult when he saw no one was in his division. Prof. tells us that even though he lost one battle his war still wages on and that he must be dilligent in his preperation, so that he will be ready for the next battle. All his team, friends and family have to say is "GOOOO PROF. PAULO!!!!!!!"

Naples Brazilian Jiu Jitsu New Location!

Gracie Barra Naples brazilian jiu jitsu school is moving to a bigger and better location! our new 2,500 foot facility is located at 771 Airport Rd. naples fl. 34104. The new school will open December 3-2011. We are estatic about our move and look forward to all the awesome training to come in 2012!

Naples Brazilian jiu jitsu's Professor Paulo Ribeiro receives his 3rd degree!

Gracie Barra Naples brazilian jiu jitsu's head instructor Professor Paulo Ribeiro was pleasently surprised with his third degree by his Master Diojone Farias this past thursday. Professor Paulo humbly accepted the honor saying the new rank only inspired him and solidified his life's work. Professor Paulo has been a black belt a decade and absolutely loves his profession and only wants to share his knowledge with others eager to learn his gentle art. Congratulations Prof. Paulo on your well deserved and hard earn new rank we are proud to call you our Professor!

Jiu Jitsu World Championship

I'm back on Naples after a one week break in Long Beach, California, where I watched the 2009 Jiu Jitsu World Championship. It has been a very good cometition (the 3rd World Championship in US) and I noticed that the level of the competitor is getting better year after year.

It was also a very good opportunity to watch Bianca, Professor Dijione's wife, winning the final in only 30 seconds by submission!! It was the fastest submission in the competition.

By the way, Bianca and Dijione are going to be in our school in Naples on October 2009 for a Seminar with our students.

Congrats to Bianca!!
